  • 5 GHz deauth on C5 is tracked as crashing or having no effect in the project issue trackers through mid-2026 — e.g. a Bruce firmware report of Wi-Fi target attacks not working on either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.
  • 5 GHz is "no longer unique to any one tool," but across implementations it remains the least mature part of the stack.

Translation: you can pay $99 for a 5 GHz-capable board and still find the 5 GHz attacks you bought it for don't reliably fire yet. (Note: C5 scanning and GPS wardriving are a different story — more on that below.)
