Biscuit's current official architecture uses the phone's GPS. Biscuit states that GPS, logging and map rendering run on the phone, and its DIY setup requires Bluetooth and Location permission in Biscuit Manager. Its published ESP32-C5 board profiles contain no Scout Lite GPS UART or L86-M33 configuration.

That means Scout Lite's onboard GPS is not defective or removed—it simply is not the documented position source in Biscuit mode. Restore Marauder when you want the integrated L86 GPS workflow.

About the indoor-GPS comment: the creator reported getting a location indoors near windows, but that comment does not identify the hardware source. Because Biscuit's documented workflow uses phone location, it should not be treated as proof that Biscuit reads Scout Lite's L86 GPS.

Before you flash: make the experiment reversible

Scout Lite already arrives with ESP32 Marauder. If your priority is reliable Flipper Zero wardriving with onboard GPS, there is nothing you need to replace. If you want to try Biscuit, save the recovery path first:

  1. Open and bookmark the PINGEQUA Scout Lite recovery flasher. This is the direct route back to the intended Marauder setup.
  2. Use a data-capable USB-C cable. A charge-only cable can power the board while preventing the browser from seeing its serial interface.
  3. Disconnect the board from the Flipper Zero before USB flashing. Flash and power it through one controlled connection.
  4. Keep the antennas attached for radio use. Entering the bootloader does not require transmitting, but later RF operation should use the correct attached antenna.

How to flash Biscuit DIY on Scout Lite

How to restore ESP32 Marauder

If Biscuit does not fit your workflow—or you want Scout Lite's onboard GPS and microSD integration again—restore the board's intended Marauder firmware:

  1. Disconnect Scout Lite from the Flipper Zero.
  2. Open the Scout Lite browser recovery flasher in desktop Chrome or Edge.
  3. Hold BOOT while connecting the Scout Lite USB-C port, then choose the detected serial device.
  4. Run the Scout Lite flash option and wait for completion before unplugging.
  5. Reconnect Scout Lite to the Flipper Zero and confirm Marauder can scan; then test GPS outdoors with a clear sky view.
